Course Description

Fox Without Borders

The Fox Without Borders program is a non-credit program that is open to current graduate students and Temple alumni interested in travelling virtually! Created from the inability to travel, Fox Without Borders provides an opportunity for students to experience another country and its culture from a business, social and cultural perspective. Each series will have 4 sessions and will take a deep dive focus on one country per series.  Upon completion of all four sessions, students will receive a Global Business Professional Certificate. Experience International, no passport necessary!

Recognizing that most global travel today is restricted while the need to understand the global economy could not be more necessary, the Fox School and Temple CIBER have developed this virtual global certificate program, which enables participants to take a highly focused approach to learning about a single country without leaving home. Though nothing can replicate the experience of being abroad, we have taken every step to provide the benefits of traveling to a country to experience its business environment without a passport.

All business today is global. And regardless of how locally-operated your particular industry may be, global supply chains, trade, and immigration work to integrate often behind the scenes—your business into the global economy. Failure to understand the relevance of being a global business on any scale is a failure to leverage opportunities, ideas, and pathways to greater success.

Each seminar in this certificate series will include four key elements: first, a high-level overview of the country and the region taught by an academic expert from the Fox School; second, insights from key business and academic leaders from the country itself; third, updates on the current state of affairs for business in the country from a key expert; and finally, exposure to the business culture with an explanation of the importance of understanding that culture. All of these lessons will be combined with suggested key readings and cultural activities to expose participants to every aspect of the country. Please note that participants are required to attend all four sessions to receive a certificate.
