Inside-Out
The Inside-Out Prison-Exchange Program creates a dynamic partnership between institutions of higher learning and correctional systems in order to deepen the conversation about and transform our approaches to understanding crime, justice, freedom, inequality, and other issues of social concern.
The Inside-Out Center, based at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is the international hub of The Inside-Out Prison Exchange Program. It serves as the focal point for maintaining, growing, and disseminating the program’s vision, values, and methods, and provides the administrative nucleus for the program’s activities. In addition to carrying out an active schedule of public speaking, media coordination, and information sharing, the Center conducts the program’s weeklong International Instructor Training Institutes, alternative training programs for other venues and situations, and a variety of support initiatives for both trained faculty and alumni. The Inside-Out Prision Exchange Program
Educational and Informational Courses: 3-10 week classes Fall and Spring, Free Community Thursday Workshops, Certificate Programs (nominal fee)
Reentry Services: Reentry Workshop every Tuesday, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. (National Workforce Opportunity Network and reentry affiliates), Career coaching and employment placement are available
Keyspot: Free Internet access Monday - Thursday, 1p.m. - 5 p.m. except during workshops, Computer basics classes and individual assistance available upon request.
Workforce Connection Hub: Collaboration of PA CareerLink, Graduate Philadelphia, Office of Adult Education, and Temple University Human Resources, access to assessment, employment skills, training opportunities, and advancement for post-secondary education, Workshops are offered every Thursday by various partners.
