Course Description

The Summer Owl Leadership Experience (SOLE) allows students entering grades 11th -12th the opportunity to develop and expand their leadership skills through this unique academic program. Students will spend three weeks taking a credit course, participating in a leadership training course, visiting successful professional enterprises, and exploring Philadelphia.Courses taught by enthusiastic and knowledgeable faculty members. Classes meet for a minimum of three hours per morning over the programs's three-week period. Afternoons are filled with group activities, projects and individual study.

Course Outline

Temple's Summer Owls Leadership Experience welcomes talented and motivated rising high school juniors and seniors. The program will provide:

• Chose a college course in business, communication, education, public health or sciences taught by enthusiastic and knowledgeable Temple faculty.
• Live in a campus residence hall, in a safe, supervised program with other high school students.
• Campus workshop sessions about leadership skills and how to prepare for college.
• Experience Temple University’s vibrant, urban campus.
• Participate in fun weekend activities and field trips.
• Gain and expand your leadership skills and develop your independence through thought-provoking academics and university life.
• Personally engage with fellow students, faculty and program staff who foster your future success in college.
• Prepare for the college admissions process.
• Soar with SOLE and begin your college experience with Temple University in Summer 2016.
