Course Description

LEGAL TOPICS OF INTEREST (TO ME AND HOPEFULLY YOU!)

Susan Katz Hoffman
Wednesdays, 10:00 AM-11:30 AM
Nov. 3-Dec. 8 | Session 2

Topics in this class include plagiarism, crazy lawsuits, voting rights, the filibuster, RBG, and Trump. Some of these topics may change depending on events that happen between now and the start of the class. Each week, we will focus on a different legal topic—both lighthearted and serious. The topic of plagiarism will focus on popular music and art. The topic of voting rights will include a look at the history of legislation and case law relating to who can vote and how. We will look at the development of the filibuster and how budget reconciliation applies. We will also discuss crazy lawsuits through seemingly absurd litigation that has been filed and how the cases turn out (if we know).
Maximum registrants: 500
