Course Description

Make Your Own Snowglobe

Wednesday, December 16 - 10:00AM - 11:00AM

(Registration closes December 15 at NOON)

You do not have to buy everything. You can make things—to give as gifts; to have as your own; to display in your home.

OLLI Art Instructor, Susan Stevens, will demonstrate how to make snow globes at home, using materials you probably have at home.

You can work along with Susan or just watch and make your snow globe later.

Materials you will need:

· Clean jar with a close-fitting lid. Pickle jars, olive jars, mustard jars, all make interesting looking snow globes.

· A ceramic or plastic figure to place in the globe. Garage sales, consignment stores, craft shops all have small objects.

· Epoxy or some other waterproof glue

· A pitcher with water

· Small bottle of glycerin (Rite-Aid sells it near the Bactine.)

· White or silver glitter

Optional:

§ Enamel paint or nail polish to paint the lid of the jar.

§ Plastic greenery from an artificial plant

§ Ribbon to tie around the lid
