Course Description

In this course, you will learn how to post journal entries to the correct general ledger accounts impacted by each transaction. This course will show you how to make sure your general ledger balances at the end of each month by preparing an unadjusted trial balance. You will learn how to look for errors when you don’t balance, and how to determine to correct entries. After posting correcting entries and/or adjusting entries, you will verify debits and credits equal with an adjusted trial balance. This course also goes through the steps of performing monthly bank reconciliations.

Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:

Instructor: Sharon deFonteny, has a degree in Business Education with a concentration in Accounting and spent many years in Corporate America working in Accounting and Finance.   For the past 5 years, she has created and taught online Business courses for Bucks County Community College.  Her experience in business, as well as experience in teaching, has allowed her to help people understand the Accounting and Finance process.

This 4-Week, self-paced Online course (no Zoom meetings) is offered through partnership with LERN/UGotClass. Class is scheduled for May 6-31, 2024 - there are no set meeting dates or times. 

NOTE: Students will receive Log-On instructions from LERN/UGotClass and have access the Wednesday before the class begins. 

Cancellation, Withdrawal and Refund Policy

A participant who withdraws from a non-credit course, in writing, up to one-week prior to the starting date of the course, will receive a refund, minus a $25 withdrawal fee; for all certificate programs the withdrawal fee is $50. For courses costing $75 or less, the withdrawal fee is $10 per course. No refunds will be given after that time. E-mail your withdrawal request to: ncce@temple.edu Please note that if you do not officially withdrawal from a course and you do not attend the course, you are still responsible for payment. Temple University reserves the right to cancel a course for any reason. If the course is cancelled, you will be notified and your entire tuition will be refunded.
