Course Description

We have all heard the expression, “There is no ‘I’ in Team.” It is a phrase used to emphasize that a team is greater than the individual members. The reality is that there may not be an “I” but there is a “me”. When you find yourself in a less than effective team it may be up to you to turn things around. This workshop will take a personal approach to team building by focusing on the skills you can use to affect positive team change even when no one else seems to know how to get things accomplished in a group setting. The workshop will first focus on what an effective team looks like. Second, the workshop will provide a set of skills that are needed to build and support an effective team. The third part will support you (the me) to bring these skills and knowledge to others on the team – by the use of effective interpersonal and group communication. Participants will practice effective communication strategies to communicate to others the importance of considering: team stages, goals, tasks, roles and processes, which will benefit the team as a whole.

This workshop is presented by Cynthia Belliveau, Ph.D.
