Course Description
Moving from Beginner to Intermediate in Digital Skills Instructor: Nkiru Onyemekwu Day of Week: Thursdays Dates: Feb 1 – April 11 No Class: Mar 7 Time: 10:30 PM-12:00 PM Location: In-person at Center City (TUCC) This hands-on course in OLLI’s computer lab is for students who know how to use a mouse, keyboard, email, and surf the Internet, but are ready for the next adventure. You will learn how use your email in ways you didn’t think possible, quickly revisit websites you frequent, how to increase/decrease the size of what you see on your computer, how to save user names and passwords safely/securely, basics on how to use MS Word and Excel, and finally Zoom. One of the later sessions will be held completely on Zoom. There will also be a session on smartphones. Maximum in-person registrants: 15 Instructor Bio: Nkiru Onyemekwu is currently a graduate student working towards an MS, Business Analytics, in Fox Business School. Over the past year, she became a licensed trainer for the OATS (Older Adult Technology Services) program, and has been teaching people with limited computer skills, how to navigate the digital world.

Why when I’m registering do I join the Wait List?
Several of our courses are in high demand. In order to accommodate our members who are not tech-savvy and have trouble registering online, we created a registration system in which there is no advantage to registering early, no disadvantage to registering later.
When registering, you join the Wait List for each course. Don’t be alarmed. This does not mean the course is full. After the registration period is over, we run a lottery on the courses, and it randomly determines who is admitted to each course and who is not. You typically will receive notification regarding which courses you are admitted to, about two weeks before the start of the semester. If a course accepts 150 or more students, you are very likely to get into it.
