Unit 1

Power Point Overview

  • Why businesses use PowerPoint for presentations
  • Launch PowerPoint and create your first PowerPoint presentation 
  • Discover how to protect and save your slides.
  • Set your document’s Properties and Attributes including Subject, Title, and Author

Unit 2

PowerPoint Document Creation

  1. Explore the different parts of the PowerPoint slide navigation  
  2. Understand slides and templates, and their makeup
  3. Learn how to populate, format, and present slides 
  4. Create multiple slides and templates
  5. Learn how to insert comments and professionally edit

Unit 3

Advanced Features and Functionality

  1. Create and manage slides
  2. Learn to organize slides into sections 
  3. Create “live” connections between slides and Excel worksheets
  4. Create effective and informative slides with tables and charts

Unit 4

PowerPoint Management and Sharing

  1. Create meaningful file names and understand filing systems to manage PowerPoint documents
  2. Organize your documents on your hard drive and learn how to copy and move documents
  3. Manage track changes when co-authoring documents
  4. Printing and PDF file creation including print settings

Cancellation, Withdrawal and Refund Policy

A participant who withdraws from a non-credit course, in writing, up to one-week prior to the starting date of the course, will receive a refund, minus a $25 withdrawal fee; for all certificate programs the withdrawal fee is $50. For courses costing $75 or less, the withdrawal fee is $10 per course. No refunds will be given after that time. E-mail your withdrawal request to: ncce@temple.edu. Please note that if you do not officially withdrawal from a course and you do not attend the course, you are still responsible for payment. Temple University reserves the right to cancel a course for any reason. If the course is cancelled, you will be notified, and your entire tuition will be refunded.

It is easy to participate in your online course. After you register, you will be given a web address to go to get into your online classroom (the Wednesday before class begins). You will have a password and use your email address and password to gain access. You can participate any time of day or evening. The online classroom is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. 

NOTE: The activation Email will come from LERN/UGotClass. 

There are no live real-time requirements or meetings. You decide when you participate. For the best learning, participants should log into the course on 2-3 different days of the week.
