JEWS AND MUSLIMS: THEN AND NOW

We will examine the history of Jewish-Arab relations from ancient times to the present with attention to periods of symbiosis, such as medieval Spain, and the roots of the current hostility. We will also deal with the current attempts at rapprochement and Jewish life in non-Arab Muslim countries. We will develop an understanding and appreciation of the roots of the conflict between Israel and its Arab neighbors.
