Course Description

Trends in American History*
Herbert Ershkowitz, PhD
At the present time, the United States finds itself in a state of perpetual war. This contrasts with the policy of the United States in the 19th century when it tended to avoid becoming involved with European and world conflicts. The purpose of this course is to analyze the history of American foreign relations from the Washington administration until the present time. However, the major emphasis will be on the Cold War and the post–Cold War era.
