This is a course in basic, flat pattern drafting and sewing. Students will have fun creating their own fashion statement, whether in a garment, tote bag, kufi or other item. Creative uses of African and Afro-centric fabrics will be emphasized. Tips on entrepreneurship will be included.

Bring your projects, fabric, and imagination as you learn techniques to make your vision come to fruition.  Students will have fun creating their own fashion statement, whether in a garment, tote bag, kufi or other item. Materials needed: Fabric, sewing scissors, thread, and it is suggested you bring your portable sewing machine to learn HOW to properly use it.
