EDU1008 - Special Education Expansion Course - Grades 7-12

Course Description

Pennsylvania is currently offering all current PA Special Education PK-8 certificate holders, if desired, the option to expand the grade-level scope of their certification to include secondary grade levels.   

Temple College of Education and Human Development (HCED) is excited to offer Pk-8 Special Education teachers, recent graduates, and other holders of PA Special Education P-K 8 certification across Pennsylvania a 12 hour continuing education course to meet the requirements for this expansion.

This self-guided online program consists of 6 modules, including Secondary Transition, Disabilities and Implications for Learning in a Standards Aligned System, Specially Designed Instruction, Learning Environments and Social Interactions, Language (Communication) Development, and Instructional Planning for Grades 7-12.  At the end of each module, you must complete an assessment.  You may apply for the expansion upon successful completion of all modules and assessments.

You can also earn twelve (12) Act 48 credit hours upon completion of this program.
