Course Description

Do you have an urge to tell your family's story for future generations? Are you the designated family historian without whom the story(s) might be lost? Have you got a pile of pictures and papers waiting to be preserved or pitched? This course helps you create a working plan and provides the nuts and bolts of getting that story out into the world. You will learn the basics of culling and physically or digitally organizing and preserving documents and objects. You will learn how to identify themes to give your story structure, and how to tell a compelling story in written or spoken word. Finally, you'll learn how to put it all together into its final form for posterity or publication. No writing experience required.
