Course Description

Use your sketchbook as a means for exploring the world around you and developing your technical skills in observation and imagination. This workshop will focus on creating drawings from observation through a series of prompts focusing on a diverse range of subject matter. Using a variety of media, students will gain experience with elements of drawing, including perspective, line, value, color, and composition. Subjects will include outdoor spaces, architectural interiors, the figure and still-life, and will be mixed with exercises that encourage creative experimentation and idea development. Through this investigation into drawing, students will develop a unique vision in their sketchbooks that will serve as a document of their individual worlds and experiences. Appropriate for all artistic levels.
