Course Description

INTRODUCTION TO BUDDHISM AS A PHILOSOPHY AND A PRACTICE

Instructor: William Stauffer
4-Week Course on Wednesdays from November 4-December 2 (No class November 25) - 9:00 AM-10:00 AM

This course offers an introduction to the Buddha’s life and teachings. The Buddha grew up in a rich and powerful family and came to see that a life centered on possessions, pleasure, and fame is not noble and creates unhappiness. After years of searching, the Buddha found a better way, which he called “the end of suffering”, and he taught about this for the next 45 years of his life. Do his ideas still have relevance today?
