THE HEART–A MEDICAL EXAMINATION

4-Week Course on Tuesdays from September 29-October 20 - 3:00 PM-4:00 PM

This interactive course will provide a basic medical education of the human heart and heart disease. The course will start with instruction on the anatomy and basic physiology of the heart. The heart’s role and interaction with the major components of the circulatory system will be discussed. The second lecture will discuss ischemic heart disease, particularly heart attacks. The third lecture will deal with heart failure and valvular heart disease. The fourth lecture will discuss pacemakers and other aspects of the electrical system of the heart.
