Course Description

Basic Mathematics                                       

This course is designed for the student who needs a refresh the principles of mathematics before taking GED prep classes.  Students learn to read, write, and interpret basic mathematical information; solve whole number, basic fractions, decimals, and percent problems.  Data, statistics, shapes, and measurements are included. The course aims to develop confidence, mathematical competency, and high school equivalency math understanding.  Students will be expected to attend every class session, participate fully, and ask questions whenever necessary.  The goal is for students to successfully build their basic skills in preparation for training, high school equivalency and employment needs.

Instructor: Edward Colemen is a graduate of Cornell University, where he earned a Master of Arts degree, He has been a volunteer at PASCEP since 1998. He is also a member of the Association for the Study of Classical African Civilizations (ASCAC)
