TYLER0845 - Tyler Pre-College - Painting and Process
Course Description
Learn a variety of playful and academic painting processes that have been around since the Renaissance and explore painting with alternative everyday materials. Students will be introduced to historic and contemporary artworks that demonstrate how the history of painting and its processes and materials are relevant today. Spark new ideas about painting as you learn how to create your own paints and pigments from household items, such as spices and eggs, using methods that have existed for centuries. This class will introduce the formal elements of composition, color, and form through observational painting and demonstrations of techniques that are foundational to all painting processes. No previous experience required.
