Introduction to Music Learning Theory
How do we learn when we learn music? In this 7.5-hour module, participants learn introductory tenets of Music Learning Theory as developed by Edwin E. Gordon. This module springboards participants' engagement in the introductory module for Elementary General and/or Instrumental Music.

How do teachers use Gordon's music learning theory concepts to foster dynamically engaging social-music interactions? In this 7.5-hour module, participants learn introductory ways to frame new and familiar repertoire and offer music learners opportunities to audiate tonality, meter, and style - both silently and while expressing elements of music through movement and singing or chanting.
How do teachers use Gordon's music learning theory concepts to foster beginning instrumental music lessons, rehearsals, and concerts? In this 7.5-hour module, participants use a soprano recorder to facilitate practical applications of audiating tonality, meter, and style. Transfers to instrument families described.
