ONCE1102 - DaVinci Derbies! (Family Camp)

Course Description

Leonardo DaVinci – Scientist? Artist? Engineer? Musician? Come explore the world of DaVinci and compete in the DaVinci Derby. Come one and all, whether you are an engineer, scientist, or artist. Working with a partner, by yourself or with your family, design, decorate, and race your proto-type DaVinci-mobiles on a track created by the Bresslergroup, an innovative design company. Campers will receive three cars and materials for three unique competitions. One car will be the artistic design proto-type. The allowed "art materials" will be supplied. The second car will the "race car." With speed and stability in mind, design the best! The third car will be an innovative design and function proto-type. Design and build a car for a unique service or process. Each camper will create a commercial about their products as part of the competition. A live or virtual race will be held using the Bresslergroup track. Finally, we will host a parade of the art-cars and the innovative function cars. The procession will be live, if possible, virtual if not. The competition will include prizes for engineering/design, artistic expression, and of course, racing!

Notes

This family camp is best suited for youth entering grades 2 through grades 6. Camp is schedule M-F, August 3 to 7, 2020.
