Acting for the Camera 


Introduction to Acting on Camera

Have you ever watched a great film or television performance and wondered, "how did that actor DO that?" This course is designed to help you learn the fundamental techniques of acting and the craft of adapting those skills to the screen. 





Learner Outcomes

Each student will gain acting experience through exercises, one-on-one work, and scene study. Screenplays and television scripts will be provided by the instructor to be analyzed and performed. A vocabulary will be developed to understand the visual language of film through the lens of an actor.

-Synchronous meetings as well as private one-on-one sessions for individual attention


Amy Frear is an adjunct faculty member at Temple University as well as a Senior Lecturer at the University of the Arts. She has performed in numerous independent films as an actor, as well as regional theater. As a filmmaker, her films have been screened in film festivals internationally.
