Introduction to Public Speaking

Do you have the presence of a leader? Have you always wanted to lead a team? Motivate a group of people or co-workers or students? Have you ever hoped for a way to find more confidence in your ability to speak in public? Whether you are giving a presentation, a speech, auditioning for a role, or even interviewing for a job - a confident, relaxed presence is a vital skill in business and in life.

Course Outline

In this introductory workshop, through sharing self-taped videos or other examples of your presentation wok and exploring assigned texts and speeches, you will receive constructive feedback from fellow students and guest experts. You will practice analyzing your performance, repeating and refining your work, in exercises and acting techniques especially designed by Temple Theater Professor and 35 year professional working actor, Marcus Giamatti.
