HBGCE0107 - Module 7: Marketing and Communications - Nonprofit Management Certificate Program (Online)
Course Description
Are you in a new leadership position or interested in pursuing a leadership position within a nonprofit? If so, this course is for you!
This is a self-paced course comprised of 10 modules all of which are offered completely online through the Canvas Learning Management System. To earn the certificate for this program, completion of all ten modules is required. The fee for the entire certificate program is $500. Modules may be taken in any order and can be taken individually for continuing education for a fee of $75 each. To view all ten modules, click here.
All module assignments are due within 6 months from the day of registration. It is estimated that it will take approximately 2- 2 1/2 hour(s) to complete each entire module.
Participants who successfully complete all 10 modules will receive Temple University Harrisburg’s Nonprofit Management Certificate.
This certificate program focuses on cultivating an understanding and development of interrelated skills that are fundamental to non-profit management. Through the program modules, you will develop knowledge of and practices for:
- theoretical and practical applications of organizational and planning theories/models;
- inter-organizational relationships; and
- functions of public, private and non-profit organizations, and human resources
Special emphasis is given to organizational vision, multitasking, and innovation in a dynamic environment.
Topics include organizational structure, leadership, governance, program design and development, managing for performance, marketing and communications, resource development, advocacy, public policy, and cultural humility. Assignments facilitate self-discovery of knowledge and the development of a variety of professional skills.

How to succeed in this course and receive the program certificate (also a requirement for Social Work continuing education)
- You will need to complete and pass every activity in order to pass each module and qualify for the Program Certificate.
- An 80% or higher must be obtained for each module in order to obtain the certificate.

You have the option to take individual modules or the entire certificate program. Continuing education hours may also be awarded for individual modules (2 CE hours) or the entire certificate program (20 CE hours)
If you wish to be eligible to receive the Program certificate you must:

Successfully pass each activity in each of the 10 modules with an 80% or higher

Complete the post program evaluation which will be sent via email upon completion of all 10 modules
If you wish to also receive Continuing Education hours you must:

Complete the module evaluation form at the end of each module

Complete the online request form.
Technology Requirements
Possessing a basic level of technical competency and comfort level will help you to be successful in the program. You must have the hardware (desktop or laptop, tablet or smartphone) and software (Browsers such as Chrome, Safari, Firefox or Microsoft Edge) to access the internet. A broadband internet connection (DSL, cable, fiber, etc.) is recommended with a hardwired Ethernet cable. Wireless (Wi-Fi) connections may be utilized but a weak or congested signal may cause issues with video buffering or content access.
