Course Description

Join us in this summer as we read great novels embedded with mystery. We begin with Rachel Pastan’s luminous Alena, a contemporary art world homage to DuMaurier’s Rebecca. We follow with Zachary Lazar’s Israeli/literary/mobstery-themed mystery I Pity the Poor Immigrant, in James Wood’s words, “the interaction of history with...the severe glamour of crime.” We end with Henry James classic psychological mystery thriller The Turn of the Screw. Feel free to bring a snack or bag lunch.
