Course Description

The Office of Research and Doctoral Programs at the Fox School of Business is offering a Half-day Research Writing Intensive Course on September 24^th, 2019. This course is designed specifically to meet the needs of Fox’s PhD students as they prepare for a career full of writing and publishing in journals. The course will go over several macro-level topics, including what to do before you begin writing, the structural components of academic writing, and different outlining techniques, as well as micro-level topics, such as grammar, style, clarity of language, and readability. Additionally, students will learn techniques that will assist them from the early stages of their paper’s development through the revision process to publication; this will be especially useful when writing longer papers (think: dissertations and theses!).
