Course Description

This course will utilize a combination of lecture and group discussion to assist participants with moving beyond the pathology based model to a sex positive model when discussing sexual health with LGBTQ communities. Using a “sex positive” approach to LGBTQ health can help remove stigma and shame from sexual choices. It is crucial to have a deep understanding of your own bias and take a step away from the assumption that all LGBTQ people are engaging in “risky sex” to start a conversation that can promote healthy outcomes. This course is open to anyone willing to learn how to discuss sex and sexuality with LGBTQ communities.
