Course Description

In the lexicon of American history and politics, the name “Vietnam” is a synonym for an American failure. What lessons have we learned from this war? We will examine
the impact and the consequences of the U.S. involvement in the wars of Southeast Asia from 1955-75 through personal experiences, literature and films.

Presented by Ira Cooperman,a Vietnam veteran with the CIA and military intelligence experience who has lectured on this topic at the Chautauqua Institution and the
U. S. Military Academy at West Point.
