Course Description

The University of Connecticut Humphreys Institute for Political Social Work Campaign School trains social workers and students on electoral politics. Now in their 24th year, they have developed a strong network of over 1,400 alumni who serve as elected officials, leaders, advocates and organizers. Even those who do not have any current ambition to run for office are changed by the understanding of their own political power.

During the two-day training, attendees learn how to run a winning campaign for elected office, gain exposure to career paths in political settings and acquire valuable skills that can be applied to any practice setting, including advocacy, messaging, networking, fundraising and leadership.

This year, Bryn Mawr’s Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research, Temple University’s School of Social Work, University of Pennsylvania’s School of Social Policy and Practice, West Chester’s Department of Graduate Social WorkWidener’s Center for Social Work Education, and NASW-PA are excited to collaborate in hosting the second Campaign School in the Philadelphia region.

Please note spots have been reserved for affiliates of each sponsoring academic program, local community colleges and for the general public (alumni, practicing social workers and social work students from other colleges). Please register for the corresponding section. For questions related to registration, please contact Trish Dormer at tuh49203@temple.edu.
