PASCEP0415 - Grant Writing Certificate Program

Course Description

This flexible certificate program provides supervisors, managers, directors and emerging leaders with an opportunity to learn and practice skills in developing successful proposals to obtain external funding. The Grant Writing Certificate Program will cover the basics of grant seeking and writing, enabling anyone with an interest in the topic to get started on the grant writing process. 

Learner Outcomes

 After completing the modules, participants will be familiar with the steps of the grant writing process and have basic knowledge about the types of grants available and how to look for them. This certificate program is beneficial for anyone who is interested in grant writing but is not sure how to get started. It will also help experienced academic researchers, nonprofit organizations, and freelance writers to write grants more confidently and improve their grant-writing game.

Notes

Certificate Requirements:  To earn the certificate, participants must attend all classes in their entirely and complete the required assignments for the six modules. This includes a final project; to complete a grant application in response to either a grantor’s Request for Proposal or their published application guidelines for a proposal. 

Continuing Education Units and Social Work Continuing Education Hours:

This program has been approved for 1.5 CEU's and 15 Social Work Continuing Education hours, three of which fulfill the ethics requirement by the state licensing board. Temple University Harrisburg is a PA State Board of Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists, and Professional Counselors preapproved provider of continuing education. These credit hours satisfy requirements for LSW/LCSW/LMFT/LPC biennial license renewal. 

• Certificates of attendance documenting continuing education hours or units will be issued by Temple University Harrisburg.

If you are interested in receiving a certificate of continuing education, the following steps must be completed:

1. View and complete the CE Request Form indicating either a request for social work CE or CEU's
2. Attend all six modules via Zoom Meeting. Instructor will take and monitor attendance. Participants must be on camera and participating for each entire class.
3. Complete an online program evaluation at the end of the six weeks

Covid-19 Requirements:

• Mask Requirements: all individuals are required to wear a mask indoors on Temple's campuses and outdoors when a safe distance from others can't be maintained. Participants must wear a mask covering their mouth and nose for the duration of the class. 
• Participants without a mask will not be permitted to attend class.
• COVID-19 Vaccination Required

TU reserves the right to cancel continuing education events due to low enrollment.

In the event of inclement weather or issues of public health concern, TU will make every effort to cancel events with as much advance notice as possible. Notification will be posted on the CE Systems Home page at noncredit.temple.edu once a decision to close or delay has been made. In all instances cancellations will follow the University’s decisions.

Request to Postpone Attendance

All requests to be transferred into a future offering must be submitted in writing via email to pascep@temple.edu or Pamela Vierra at pamela.vierra@temple.edu and received by the Temple University Harrisburg staff before becoming effective. Please note that if registrant does not request a transfer into a future offering and does not attend as originally scheduled, the registrant is still responsible for payment. 

Transfer requests received ten (10) business days or more prior to the start of the scheduled course will be eligible for a one-time transfer at no cost. Additional transfer requests or requests less than 10 days prior to the start of the course will be subject to a $50.00 administrative fee.
