BASIC ENGLISH COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Level: Beginner, TCALC Levels 2 - 4
Description: This speaking course will develop spoken English through conversation and collaborative tasks. Each lesson focuses on a particular theme and progresses through four main phases which elicit language in spoken interactions. Because the theme can change each session, students may repeat this class until they meet their desired target outcomes. By the end of this course, students will gain confidence in speaking by discussing everyday topics and participating in collaborative tasks utilizing the target language. You will:
- Plan a dinner party on a budget
- Plan a road trip in your country on a budget
- Create and present a must-see guide for your hometown (or other city of choice)
- Design a robot/AI to serve your community
- Create an Instagram Reel or TikTok video on a topic of your choice
