IELPSI0011 - Reading and Writing I (Super Intensive)

Course Description

The Integrated English Skills course is designed to improve the four core English skills of Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing at three levels of English proficiency (high novice, intermediate, and advanced).  Students in this class will read a level-appropriate novel about an aspect of US culture.  Then, each of the four course units will feature level-appropriate articles and video content related to the theme of the novel.  Through guided small group and whole class discussions, students will analyze the topics and related vocabulary.  Students will also be assigned weekly vocabulary development assignments and summary and response writing projects focused on the theme.
