Course Description

This is an opportunity to learn how jazz is played, the history of its development, and background of some of its most notable musicians through their recording and video performances. You will hear music of various eras and styles from the first “jass” recordings in 1917 in order to understand and appreciate this uniquely American art form.

Presented by Chandler Cook, who plays woodwinds in big bands and John Banger, a lifelong music lover, who became interested in jazz as a teenager.
