TRACE0017 - Drawing in the Ruins
Course Description
Students will be immersed in Rome’s ancient surroundings and sketch the same views as Corot, Turner, Piranesi and countless other artists throughout the centuries. This is a mixed-level, intensive, on-site course for the seasoned drawer or the real beginner, using pencil. Brief historical explanations of the sites and hands-on demonstrations on line, tone and perspective create a 360º learning experience.
Session 1: Meet at the Marcus Aurelius statue outside of the Capitoline Museums (Campidoglio) at 9:25. Class will draw from above the Capitoline overlooking the Roman Forum
Session 2: Meet Outside Trajan’s Market on Via IV Novembre 94 at 9:25. Class will draw inside the ancient market.
Cost includes all supplies and entrance fees.

This course takes place in Rome, Italy.
