Course Description
In this three-part course, students will discover the wines of 12 regions of Italy, and delve into the history, food pairing and how to choose. A must for the wine enthusiast!
Session 1: Wine in history, From the origins to our day
Italian White Wines
North-West: Vermentino Ligure
North-East: Ribolla Friulano
Center: Verdicchio Castelli Jesi
South: Salina Sicily
Session 2: Tasting techniques: Visual, olfactory, gustatory
Italian Red Wines
North-West: Nebbiolo Piemonte
North-East: Valpolicella Veneto
Center: Chianti Tuscany
South: Aglianico Campania
Session 3: Wine and food Pairing
Sparkling Franciacorta Lombardia pairing with….apertizer
White Greghetto Umbria pairing with pecorino cheeses
Red Montepulciano d’Abruzzo pairing with…salami
Dessert: Muffato Lazio pairing with a crostata and blue cheese.
