Course Description

A survey of Jewish communities in distant, unexpected or unusual places around the world. Part III of The Jewish Diaspora will deal with Asian, African, and Australasian Jewish communities, both past and present, including China, Central Asia, India, Iran, Yemen, Ethiopia, South Africa, New Zealand and Australia. We will briefly explore the historical development, religious culture, and social context in each of these places. Class participation will be encouraged.
