Course Description

Join Philadelphia fiber artist and longtime educator, Dianne Koppisch Hricko, for this five-day workshop held in Tyler's state-of-the-art Fibers studios. Designed with adult students and educators in mind, this workshop is perfect for those interested in the excitement of creating one-of-a-kind hand dyed textiles! Investigate color theory and composition on fabric using textile surface design techniques. Working with the ancient Japanese resist processes of shibori, and contemporary deconstructed silk screen methods, you will explore dyeing as a means of understanding design and composition. Everyone will leave class with several hand dyed samples and the knowledge to continue your exploration on your own. All materials are readily available, and projects will translate well to K-12 classroom settings. Enhance your artistic practice though hands-on instruction in an environment that encourages experimentation! All experience levels welcome.
