HRLD0097 - Supervisory Academy

Course Description

Previously the Supervisory Development Program, the Supervisory Academy is a comprehensive 3 1/2 day program is for new supervisors, new to Temple supervisors and those supervisors who participated in this program over 5 years ago.  The program provides participants with opportunities to network and learn from supervisory colleagues, practice supervisory skills in a safe and collaborative learning environment and increase their knowledge base on what it takes to fulfill the important organizational role of supervising others.

This is a 3 1/2 day certificate program. You must attend all 4 sessions in order to receive credit:

• 10/9/2018
• 10/16/2018
• 10/23/2018
• 10/30/2018 1/2 day session

Topics will include:

• Emotional Intelligence
• Understanding Organizational Culture
• Managing a Diverse Workforce
• Total Performance Management including Situational Leadership
• Managing effectively in changing times
• Critical HR Electronic Systems

Prerequisites:

This program is reserved for current Temple employees supervising, or likely to supervise in the next six months, at least one Temple staff/faculty member.  If you do not currently supervise a full-time Temple employee, please register for Stepping Up to Supervision instead.
