Course Description

The early 1960’s was a turbulent time in the U.S, full of political changes, historic events, and a rich variety to musical experimentation. Come and think critically about the connections between music and events of this era. We will look at many genres including rock, jazz, Motown, soul, classical and more. In addition to recorded examples, David Heitler-Klevans, the instructor, will bring his guitar and sing some of the songs in class.
