The course is designed to give pertinent information on the dental treatment and behavior management for adolescents and adults with special needs. This lecture will discuss my background, definitions, dental care considerations for those with disabilities and a variety of techniques to manage the patient’s behavior.Learner Outcomes

Paul Bigg, DMD

Dr. Paul Bigg is an Assistant Professor and Special Care Unit Director of Special Needs Dentistry at the Saint Louis Dental Center. He earned his DMD from Case Western Reserve University and completed a General Dentistry Residency at Erie County Medical Center. His expertise includes geriatric dentistry, physical disabilities, psychological conditions, and hospital dentistry. Dr. Bigg’s research focuses on cleft palate and craniofacial care, special needs dentistry, and operating room dentistry. He is an active member of multiple professional organizations, including ACPA, SCDA, ADEA, AAPD, AADMD, MDA, ADA, and the Greater St. Louis Dental Society.
