Mental Health America is hosting a conference for local mental health professionals to focus on the preventions, treatment and impact of suicide.
The conference will begin with a keynote presentation by Dr. M. David Rudd, PhD, ABPP, to establish a model for understanding suicide risk and self-harm.
Following the keynote, attendees may select one of two options for a breakout session:

A panel discussion led by Dr. Jessica Umbrell, PsyD, including local crisis workers, an adolescent suicide attempt survivor, an adult attempt survivor and loss survivors;

A presentation on the differential impact of discrimination on suicide in the LGBTQ community, led by Dr. Brent A. Satterly, PhD, MSS, LCSW.
Finally, participants will gather for the afternoon for an in-depth presentation by Dr. Rudd on suicide risk assessment, clinical management of suicidal thinking and behavior, crisis response and documentation.
Up to 5.5 continuing education hours will be available - if all sessions are attended. Participants will be able to select any/all sessions once conference registration has been completed.
