Course Description

Used by companies as a mark of distinction and as a system for ensuring quality and customer satisfaction, International Standards Organization 9001 (ISO 9001) is one of the world’s most recognized standards for quality management.  The standard has evolved to be applicable across a wide range of industries and types of organizations.

Key benefits include the following:

  • The standard provides a proven continual improvement methodology, which can be used, for example, to ensure efficient operations or increase stakeholder satisfaction.
  • The standard is internationally recognized and serves as a mark of distinction and commitment to quality.

The recently released 2015 revision builds on these qualities with added focus on current best practices in

  • Risk management
  • Knowledge management
  • Change management

Also, the 2015 revision aligns the core structure of the 9001 quality management standard with the 27001 information security standard and the 14001 environmental standard. Because of this new alignment between the standards, being 9001 certified sets a foundation for becoming 27001 or 14001 certified.

This course is designed both for companies that intend to earn a certification and those that are currently certified and seek guidance on the major new changes of 2015. Key concepts will be explored in depth, and key skills for applying the standard will be practiced.

The standard has evolved to be applicable across a wide range of industries and types of organizations.
